Trail Of Another One (Single)

lyrics

So you hopped in the front seat
Said "Take me for a spin"
From the very beginning
You held my heart in your hands

Under a soft summer's rain
You placed your lily hand in mine
Took me down to the river
Where we rid ourselves of time

All the leaves were gone
As I left come the dawn
Now I'm on the trail of another one

There was a song come on the radio
I'll remember it all my life
From the verse to the refrain
It'll stand the test of time

Just some soft summer fling
You washed clean off of your hands
Cus from the very beginning
You knew it'd come to an end

All the leaves were gone
As I left come the dawn
Now I'm on the trail of another one

Now I'm stuck somewhere in the middle
Can't get you off my mind
But I'll keep the engine runnin'
Til' I'm all outta time
Til' I'm all outta time
Til' I'm all outta time
Til' I'm all outta time
Til' I'm all outta time...

“I met Joe in Asheville a long time ago. We were looking for someone to play guitar in our band. He wouldn't say much early on and we weren't sure if he even enjoyed being in the band. We were playing a show one time and sitting on a bench to kill time. Joe started quoting lines from "Batman" in a deep raspy voice out of nowhere. The rest of us were caught off guard and started to die laughing. Since then Joe and I have become quite close. I consider him my best friend.

Kovacs & the Polar Bear ended from people moving away and on to other things. I started playing December tours with Joe in his band Gold Light. It was fun to play with a different group, and adapt to a different style. Some of my favorite memories come from those tours. Too many to share, and kept best in my mind. I miss being able to share time on the road with a band. It seems like Joe never stops. He's always been one of the driving forces behind my past as a musician. He constantly inspires me with what he creates, surprises me with new songs, and is always pushing to share his creations with others.

In his new song "Trail of Another One," with its familiar steady and driving beat, Joe shows how he has progressed as a songwriter blending saxophone, piano, and smooth harmonies. It’s a beautiful song that makes listeners wonder what we’ll be able to expect from him in the future.

Most bands start disappointing their fans over the years, but with Gold Light it's quite the opposite. I'm flummoxed by Joe's ability to make each album better than the last. He keeps driving and improving, and I don't think he'll be slowing down anytime soon.”
